Share Your STory
I’m drawn to people building something real on the land. That can look a lot of different ways.
You might be a generational farmer carrying something forward, or just getting started and figuring it out as you go. Maybe you’re exploring regenerative or alternative approaches, opening your land to others through events or community gatherings, or creating a destination people want to experience.
Whether you’re training horses, raising cattle, hunting, making music, fishing, or doing something entirely your own, it all counts.
It doesn’t have to be perfect or polished. I’m interested in honest stories, thoughtful work, and people who care about what they’re building.
how it works
If you’ve built something on your land and feel like there’s a story there, I’d love to hear about it.
Poe Country is a curated storytelling project, so not every submission becomes a feature. But every story gets seen.
Here’s what the process looks like:
1. share your story
Start by filling out the submission form and telling me a bit about what you’re building.
Where you are, how it started, what you’re working toward, and anything that makes your place feel like your own.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just be honest.
2. we connect
If it feels like a strong fit, I’ll reach out and we’ll talk through your story, your space, and what a visit could look like.
Some features are purely editorial and selected based on the story. Others are produced as collaborative features where farms contribute to help bring the project to life.
We’ll figure out what makes the most sense.
3. the visit
If we move forward, I’ll come out and spend time with you on your land.
We’ll shoot naturally. No heavy staging, no pressure to perform. Just documenting what’s already there — the work, the environment, and the moments in between.
4. the story
Your story may be shared as a short film, photography feature, or a combination of both.
Everything is created with the intention of reflecting what you’ve built in a way that feels honest and lasting.
5. sharing it
Once the piece is finished, it will be shared through Poe Country.
The goal is simple: to shine a light on the people and places shaping rural life today.
a note
This isn’t about being perfect or polished. It’s about telling real stories.
Some of the best ones are still in progress.
If that sounds like you, I’d love to hear your story.
